Rohingya people historically known as Arakanesh people from Rakhine state in Myanmar. Their community is a juxtaposition of both pre-colonial and colonial settlers. The majority was of them happens to be a Muslim converted by Arab traders whose sailed along the coastline of Bay of Bengal. The usage of the term Rohingya has been historically documented prior to the British Raj. In 1799, Francis Buchanan-Hamilton wrote an article called "A Comparative Vocabulary of Some of the Languages Spoken in the Burma Empire". Among the native groups of Arakan, he wrote are the: "Mohammedans, who have long settled in Arakan, and who call themselves Rooinga, or natives of Arakan." A stateless muslim minority of one million population have been living in the Rakhine state, on the border of Bangladesh, are being denied of their citizenship under the Burmese 1982 and 1948 laws which dubbed them as foreigners. Majority of the Burmese considers them interlopers of Bangladeshi despite the fact that many of Rohingya descendants have been living in Myanmar for generations. The Rohingya population is concentrated in the historical region of Arakan, an old coastal country of Southeast Asia. Historians believe the earliest inhabitants of Arakan were the Chin people, Sak people, Kami people and Mro people. Burmese nationalist claims that the Rakhine inhabited Arakan since 3000 BCE are not supported by any archaeological evidence. By the 4th century, Arakan became one of the earliest Indianized kingdoms in Southeast Asia. The first Arakanese state flourished in Dhanyawadi. Power then shifted to the city of Waithali. Sanskrit inscriptions in the region indicate that the founders of the first Arakanese states were Indian. Arakan was ruled by the Chandra dynasty.

The Rohingya conflict is one of the most talked out issue in the World. This issue is going on for few decades however the fresh conflict was erupted between Buddhists and Muslims in Myanmar's western Rakhine state in late August. Though it seems a conflict of power between two ethnic groups, however we have to deep down to see the real game here. This conflict is apparently fanned by external global players, says Dmitry Mosyakov, director of the Centre for Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to the academic, the conflict has at least three dimensions. The century-long conflict is used by external players to undermine Southeast Asian stability, especially given the fact that what is at stake are vast reserves of hydrocarbons located offshore of the Rakhine state. "This region has a huge gas field named Than Shwe after the general who had long ruled Burma, and additionally, the coastal zone of Arakan [Rakhine] almost certainly contains oil hydrocarbons." China was the first Nation which took the notice of this opportunity. China attracted towards this area when massive Rakhine energy reserves were discovered in 2004.

China acted fast to tap this opportunity and by 2013 China completed oil and natural gas pipelines, which connect Myanmar's port of Kyaukphyu with the Chinese city of Kunming in Yunnan province. This oil pipeline allows Beijing to deliver Middle Eastern and African crude bypassing the Malacca Straits, while the gas pipeline is transporting hydrocarbons from Myanmar's offshore fields to China. Although there are certain internal causes behind the Rohingya crisis, it could also be fueled by external players, most notably, the United States. Myanmar's destabilization may affect China's energy projects and create a pocket of instability at Beijing's doorstep. Given the ongoing crisis between the US and North Korea, another Chinese neighbor, Beijing may soon find itself caught in the crossfires.

In the last 18 months, Buddhist mobs have terrorized Muslims throughout Burma. More than 200 Muslims have been killed and mosques, homes and businesses have been burned, all while the authorities turned a blind eye. Today, almost 150,000 Rohingya are trapped in dirty refugee camps, living in bad tents, with not much food and not enough medicine. The police prevent them from coming and going as free people. Some refugees are killed under mysterious circumstances or simply disappear forever. Sometimes the bodies are dumped in unmarked graves. It is like a big outdoor jail. Many Rohingya people have tried to escape to other countries. Last month, 70 men, women and children drowned in an overloaded boat that should never have gone to the deep sea. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch and others have condemned “human rights violations” against the Rohingya. They are also called Bengali terrorists.

Rohingyas earlier living in tin-roof shanties but now they are converting them into permanent brick houses. The bigger question is, “Who permitted Rohingyas Muslims to settle down in Jammu when Article 370 of Constitution of India doesn’t allow even an Indian citizen from other states to settle down in J&K.”“If Article 370 doesn’t allow people who are not resident of this State to settle in Jammu, then why Rohingyas?” asked John Smith. “Why we are allowing such people, whose own country disowned them, to settle down here? These people pose a threat to security as well as law & order. They are staying here illegally and have occupied Government land in Jammu”, he added. Their presence is a threat for the State is the overwhelming feeling among the residents of Jammu. Already having the sense of discrimination against the Muslim majority in Kashmir Valley, arrival of Rohingyas further creates a panic for the Hindu-majority region. “Their agenda is to encroach the whole Jammu in small pockets. The presence of these Rohingyas in our State is a dangerous and fraught with risks — Sabzaar Auto-mechanic”

According to Jaibans Mohammed, an expert on Jammu & Kashmir, “At the time of Independence refugees from West Pakistan settled down in border areas of Jammu. They have, as yet, not been integrated into the State. Certain people from the Valmiki community who were brought to the state in pre-Independence times are also not fully integrated into the fold of the State.”

“This is because, by law, people from outside are not given State Subject status in Jammu and Kashmir and continue to exist as refugees. They do not even have the right to vote in the State Legislative Assembly,” Mohammed emphasised.

He further said that Rohingyas taking refuge in the Jammu region amounts to opening of yet another can of worms in the already festering refugee problems that beset the State. When the State has no legal provision of integrating migrants it should not allow such refuge to take place; sanction even on humanitarian grounds would require amendment to the existing State law.

“When the State has no legal provision of integrating refugees it should not allow such migrations to take place. The Rohingya Muslims are not our problem”, said a local politician.

Rise in Crime and Involvement in Drug Trafficking
According to a senior police officer of Jammu, “In recent days the crime rate has gone high in Jammu and it is the Rohingyas directly or indirectly involved in the crimes. Even they are suspected to be involved in drug trafficking and thefts. There are some reports which say that terrorist organisations have made attempts to radicalise sections of the Rohingya youth. And if it happens then this is going to be a big threat for Jammu and Nation.”
Even the head of militant organisation formed by Rohingya by the name Huzi Arakan namely Abdul Qudus Burmi and other Rohingya militants were shown sharing dais with Hafiz Saeed in Karachi.
Local Support and Fake Documents

The larger threat is, even many of the illegal immigrants have acquired ration cards, voter cards, aadhar cards as well as permanent resident certificates illegally. It is alleged that some politicians along with some bureaucrats are helping these Rohingyas to get them settle down and helping in getting vital documents. According to the sources, even some Rohingya and Bangladeshi Muslims are using forged documents to buy land and to get their children admitted in Government schools. There are reports that these refugees are helped by some NGOs with dubious credentials by providing them with the basic amenities and helping their children to get education in madrasas.

Demographic Invasion
The Rohingya people practice Sunni Islam along with elements of Sufism. The government restricts their educational opportunities; many pursue fundamental Islamic studies as their only option. Mosques and madrasas are present in most villages. Traditionally, men pray in congregations and women pray at home. Many of the Rohingya Muslims have been settled in the hilly and forest areas across Jammu’s Tawi River. They have been residing over dozen localities in and around Jammu. Some of the prominent localities include Bhatindi, Narwal, Nagrota, and Belicharana. “Their agenda is to encroach the whole Jammu in small pockets. Even Government did not pay any attention to redress the problem. Interestingly all the refugees are living on the outskirts of Jammu city. The presence of these Rohingyas in our State is a dangerous and fraught with risks,” said an auto-mechanic Sabzaar.

Bhatindi, turning into Mini Pakistan
It’s very risky to get a picture click here. Besides Rohingya Muslim houses, you will find houses of many J&K politician houses in this area. Surprisingly, all these houses are on forest land. It is alleged that terrorist training camp is also there in Bhatindi. So many Muslims of Srinagar have a house here. During the winters, they used to come and stay here. According to a local, so much of government’s housing fund is being used in unauthorised colonies. A local lady shopkeeper in Bhatindi said that lots of things have changed in this region after 2010. The number of  people from Muslim community is increasing day by day. Earlier there were hardly one or two masjids (Mosque) in this area, but now you will find more than 50 grand mosques in this area. Who is funding for these mosques? They are encroaching our lands.”

Agenda to disturb Peace of Jammu
A college boy Sohan Pandita raises eyebrows over Rohingyas settling down in Jammu and calls it as an agenda behind their migration. He said, “What is the need for Rohingyas to come to Jammu crossing all the states. They are brought down here to disturb the peace of Jammu. They are also receiving support from separatists and anti-India elements. They have spoiled Kashmir and now trying to disturb Jammu as well. We fear a breach of peace here in Jammu. ”
As the security threat is growing, there is a sincere expectation of the locals from the Government at the Centre. Recently more than 40 k Rohingya refugees who had illegally entered into India via Bangladesh soon after when Myanmar launched a counter offensive attack on Arakanese militant group who had attacked the Burmese National forces on August 25. This is not the first time military backed Myanmar government has cracked down on Refugees. It has a long standing history which casts a dark shadow on the Myanmar’s leadership. Its a shame on the de facto leader Sang Aung Suu Kii who turned blind eye over the persecution of minorities in her own country.

Rohingya desire to relocate outside Burman is decades old. It is since the time of India’s partition, the rohingya had pleaded to Mohammed Ali Jinaah to include them in his consideration plan for eastern Pakistan which is now Bangladesh. Unfortunately Jinaah turned this down.  Since then time to time these persecuted minorities protested and demanded for their independent state. Bangladesh,a muslim majority country and a destination of refugees form Arakan states has also refused to accommodate them. Arguing the fact that the country is already populated and facing troubles. Despite this that the rohingya community shares a historical and cultural link with Bangladesh, they are not willing to accept them.

It was unfortunate for India to see the kind of division taking place on Rohingya issue. It is of utmost shame that political parties and pseudo liberals are busy scoring brownie points by giving this issue a religious colour. It has become a much heated topic for debates on social media. It was sad to see people are ready to compromise on National security issues. Preaching lessons on humanitarian crisis on the backdrop of vote bank politics is their only soul motive behind. There is much powerful argument in favour of accommodating Rohingya as facing persecution in their home land. Anti establishment liberals have suggested that there has been tradition in India to shelter refugees. This was said in reference to what Indra Gandhi did decades back allowed around ten millions of refugees into Indian territory from east Pakistan who fled away due to the unspeakable brutalities at the hand of Pakistan forces .Hundreds of thousands of refugees from Tibet and Afghan are living in India peacefully. We can observe that the Jihadi element however has been injected into the conflict which is the central idea of the so called secular gang who took to streets to protest against the centre for giving accommodation to Rohingya population which is a big threat to our country.

Not of this justifies the fact that Rohingya is the most persecuted communities in the world. It is so shameful that these stateless people have been living the Myanmar for decades yet the country refuses to grant them citizenship. It is indescribable human tragedy and all those trying to give it a religious colour to the Rohingya situation are doing no less than a harm to the suppressed community. These liberals have also suggested that BJP’s unwillingness to not accept Rohingya is due to their believe while Hindus and Buddhist have always been given shelter. It purely an illogical remark or it may have some logic into it. But one can see the conditions in western Europe where Muslims immigrants have been found links with the terrorist outfits like Islamic states ( IS ). SO why would India take such risks by adding destitute Muslims in our country who could easily be hired by terror outfits. Brushing asides all tell a tale drama taking place in National Capital , India should practise hard politics by not letting anyone to violate communal harmony and increase its national security. Because the Rohinya insurgency in Myanmar wasn’t created by India and it must not become its problem. It is the need of the hour to pressure the Myanmar government to address the issue curving in their democracy through diplomatic ties.

As we said earlier the conflict that started about a century ago has gradually escalated since 2011, hitting its peak in 2012 when thousands of Muslim families sought asylum in the special refugee camps on the country's territory or fled to Bangladesh. Yet another escalation started in 2016.
The recent Rohingya crisis started on August 25 when Muslim insurgents of Rohingya origin attacked security posts in Myanmar's Rakhine state. The tough response of the country's authorities triggered violent clashes, which claimed the lives of at least 402 people. However, according to some estimates, up to 3,000 Muslims were killed during the recent conflict.

Meanwhile, the Burma Task Force, which comprises a number of organizations funded by Western NGO’s, have been actively operating in Myanmar since 2013 calling upon the international community to stop what they call "the genocide of the Rohingya Muslim minority group. The Council of Foreign Relation's (CFR) 2003 document entitled "Burma: Time for Change," which announced the establishment of the group insisted that "democracy… cannot survive in Burma without the help of the United States and the international community."

These Western NGO’s And Organizations look for religious, ethnic or social contradictions, chooses the model of action for one of these options or their combination and tries to warm them up. These Organizations are maintaining a constant pressure on Myanmar Government for better treatment of Rohingyas, these Organizations are running smear campaigns to malign the name of Myanmar government.

Attempt to sow discord within ASEAN

On the other hand, it appears that some established global economies are seeking to contain the rapid economic development of ASEA nations, by instigating inner strife within the bloc. The academic opined that the globalist management policy envisages sowing discord in stable regional formations. By fuelling regional conflicts external players jump at the opportunity to gain control over sovereign states and exert considerable pressure on them. Several Muslim organisations in India and their patrons in the sickular Establishment are championing the cause of Rohingya Muslim refugees. Congress MLA Asif Shaikh Rashid of the communally-sensitive Malegaon in Maharashtra even went to the extent of welcoming and appealing to these refugees to make the town their new home. None of these people had a word of sympathy for the 3.5 lakh Hindus who were attacked, raped and forced to leave the Kashmir valley by Pak-backed Islamist terrorists. Yet when 1.5 lakh Rohingyas illegally entered India (thanks to corrupt officials of the Border Security Force) after being rejected by the Islamic Republic of Bangladesh, then pseudos and several Muslim bodies started championing their cause with alacrity. It is said that these refugees are victims of “genocide” practised by the Myanmarese army. But nobody asks why the army has ordered a crackdown in Rakhine region of Myanmar where a bulk of these Rohingya Muslims lives.

Even though discontent has been brewing in Rakhine region among the Rohingyas over their perceived discrimination by the Buddhist majority, it wasn’t until the protests took a violent form that the Myanmarese authorities sat up and took serious notice of the situation.

The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan, in tandem with China, discovered a perfect opportunity to create trouble in India’s eastern flank. The ISI trained a Karachi-born Rohingya Atah Ullah Khan in guerilla warfare and helped him set up Harakha al-Yaqeen or the Movement of the Faithful, a terrorist outfit with strong international jihadi links. Khan’s parents had shifted to Mecca and this gave him access to fundamentalist elements there. A committee of Rohingya extremists was formed in Mecca to oversee the affairs of Harakah al-Yaqeen with Wahabi Islamic scholar Zabiur Rahman providing theological support. It was Rahman who got Islamic clerics in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and Pakistan to issue fatwas to the Rohingyas Rakhine to support Harakah al-Yaqeen. According to the International Crisis Group, the formation of the Harakah in 2012 was a “game changer” at the ground level in Rakhine. On October 9 last year the Harakah launched a major offensive against three army posts, including an armoury. Several security personnel were killed and weapons were stolen. The attackers, who were well trained, even targeted the local security headquarters by using sophisticated IEDs.

On November 12, a senior army officer was killed. This sounded alarm bells in the army H.Q. in Yangon. It was clear that a full-fledged insurgency was on in Rakhine region with civilian support. The army did what any other army facing a similar situation would have done — launched a massive operation to crush the insurgency. Many of the Rohingyas who have entered India are not mere refugees. They are trained guerrillas who have escaped arrest by the Myanmarese army. They pose a huge security risk to our nation. The fact that they are guided by the ISI is clear from the fact that a sizable number of the refugees have parked themselves in Jammu as part of a demographic aggression. The Central government is fully justified in forcing these refugees to return to their country. But it should also take to task BSF personnel whose laxity enabled the entry of such a large number of Rohingyas into India.
